I was convinced that this was just a stone someone brought in to weigh down a cage, but it kept moving around, ending up in a different place than where we left it. I eventually figured out that it isn't just a stone, although I can't say for the life of me WHAT kind of creature it actually is.

I made the mistake of mentioning that I wanted to pet this beastie, but Attendant C'thrius nearly jumped down my throat with repeated warnings about the shimmering red pattern being a warning of how poisonous it is, and how one touch could mean death. Now the cage has about twenty "DO NOT TOUCH" signs on it. So yeah... don't touch it. I guess.
