A warrior of great renown, Metis was a Hooluk who believed the claw was mightier than the quill. She died with the wind in her wings and a song on her beak.
Gillan's early life is a story of tragedy. While still a hairy-toed infant, Gillan's parents were slain by a group of Runnyeye Goblins. Gillan was then adopted and raised by a kindly family of ferrets. But alas, this happy life was not to last. Some years later, a virulent plague spread through the Enchanted Lands and killed all of the ferrets, leaving Gillan orphaned once again. Gillan survived by eating grubs and living like a wild animal. Finally, he was found by the great Sweetz Freeborn.
