Blind Leading the Blind: Glowing Ore-Like Substance

This soft ore-like substance is very strange and has a glow in the low light almost as if it is otherworldly. I feel oddly compelled to find out more about it.

I may be blind to the obvious, but I want to find out where this glowing ore-like substance came from. (in The Blinding)
